In short

Lip sync matches the lip movement to the translation so the speaker seems to talk in the new language. It runs from the editor of a finished translation on the "Lip sync" tab. Available on Pro and Business, video only. Examples of where it works and where it does not are on the video translation with lip sync page.

How to run it #

  1. Wait for the "Done" status and open the translation in the editor. If there are unvoiced edits, press "Re-voice" first.
  2. The "Lip sync" tab on the right. Pick the quality: "Standard" or "Pro · HD".
  3. Press "Make lip sync". It usually takes a few minutes; the page refreshes itself.

The result appears in the switch above the player "Original · Translation · Lip sync" and in the "Download" menu as "Video with lip sync". If you re-voiced the translation after lip sync, a "Lip sync was made for the previous dubbing" badge and a "Redo" button appear.

What it costs #

Quality Price For
Standard 1 minute of video = 1 minute of balance Checking whether the video fits, blogs, learning
Pro · HD 1 minute of video = 10 minutes of balance Ads, close-ups in high quality

Minutes are charged at launch. Try "Standard" first: if the face is found and the lips match, Pro adds detail, but it will not fix an unsuitable shot.

When it works #

  • The face is large, facing the camera or nearly so, well lit.
  • Nothing covers the mouth: no hand, microphone or cup.
  • One person talking in the frame.
  • Vertical phone videos are fine. 4K videos are automatically scaled down to 1080p before processing.

Not suitable: profile, a wide shot with a small face, two people in the frame, cartoons, masks, heavy colour grading. If the model does not find a face, the video comes back unchanged, and the minutes for such a run are not refunded: technically the processing succeeded.

If there is an error #

The translation is not affected, the task stays "Done", and the charged minutes come back on their own. The reason is shown on the "Lip sync" tab. Most often a retry a few minutes later helps. If the error repeats, write to support with a link to the translation.
