In short

A minute of balance equals a minute of video. Minutes are charged when you press "Translate", not at upload. If a task ends with an error, the minutes come back to your balance automatically.

Translating a video #

  • The length is rounded to a whole minute: 4:48 is 5 minutes, 11:33 is 12, 1:29 is 1. Minimum 1 minute.
  • Each target language counts separately: a 5-minute video into two languages costs 10 minutes.
  • On Free each run translates the first minute and costs 1 minute.
  • Not enough minutes: the task does not start, the balance is untouched.

Edits in the editor #

  • Editing text, speakers, timestamps and sound is free. Only re-voicing, which carries the edits into the video, is paid.
  • The first dubbing after "Check the text first, then dub" is free: it was paid at launch.
  • After that, 2,000 characters of re-voiced phrases = 1 minute, rounded down. The remainder carries over: three edits of 500 characters charge nothing, the fourth completes the minute.
  • Changing a speaker's voice re-voices all of their phrases, and those count.
  • If only volume or timestamps changed, re-voicing is free.
  • The price is shown in the window before launch. The whole video is never charged again, see Will minutes be charged a second time for edits.

Everything else #

  • Lip sync: video length ×1 in "Standard" and ×10 in "Pro", see Lip sync.
  • Translating a finished video into another language: as many minutes as the video lasts.
  • Recognition and subtitles are not charged separately.

Refunds of minutes #

On a processing error the minutes come back right away and the task gets the "Error" status. On a re-voicing failure the minutes of that re-voicing come back. If the minutes did not return, write to support with your ID from the account and the video name.

About expiring minutes and plan changes see Subscription, auto-renewal and minutes. Pack prices and a plan comparison are on the Pricing page.
